TROX Chilled Beams for Wipro

TROX India bagged First Major order of Chilled Beams for Wipro Noida Facility.

After successful installation of Chilled Beam in their facility in Hyderabad, Wipro has decided to entrust TROX with 2nd order for Chilled Beams for their Noida (U.P.) Delhi NCR facility.

The Air Conditioned Area is of 1,60,000 Sq ft with 1800 Nos of Chilled Beams. With the use of Active Chilled Beam System the total power consumption is reduced and the space required for AHU rooms on each floors in Conventional System is used for other purposes. The multi-storey building is supplied with a single outdoor unit (DOUS) on the terrace with reduced CFM.

Though Chilled Beam System is a new technology for India, but in Europe & USA the same technology is in use for years.

The active chilled beams are installed flush with the ceiling and include a Primary air duct. Primary air will be injected through the nozzles which will induce secondary air over the cooling coils. The energy credentials of this type of system are very good in terms of reduced AHU energy consumption (by 60%) and increase in the chillers efficiency by 20% (by using chilled water at 15° C) to take care of 70% of the sensible load. In addition to this, they can achieve very high comfort levels in the occupied space with low supply air head velocities and sound levels.

The Chilled Beams supplied are without condensation tray as the cooling coil used in the chilled beam is dry coil taking care of only sensible load. This system design is done effectively for that purpose. Also the humidity controls are installed in the system to take care of any risk of increase in moisture level.

Whole life costs are another important consideration and with no moving parts, no filters, no drip trays and associated pipe work, chilled beams score highly since they are virtually maintenance free and only require the coils to be cleaned every 4 years, but for India we recommend cleaning in every 1-2 years due to the presence of dust level in the air.

To control and balance the primary airflow Volume Flow Limiters (VFL) to be fitted to the chilled beam by TROX – this enable the beam for easy commissioning of primary AHU.
